Bradford T. Child is skilled in high-stakes litigation
and has won all of the twenty-plus cases he has tried to verdict.
His successful trial record includes cases ranging from personal
injury and product liability to wrongful termination of employment,
inverse condemnation, business matters, and bad faith denial
of insurance coverage. He has successfully represented clients
in high-profile cases, including the San Bernardino train derailment
and pipeline explosion, and has successfully argued before the
California Supreme Court for reversal of the decisions of lower
courts.
Mr. Child earned his J.D. in 1980 at the McGeorge School
of Law, where he was selected for Law Review by the Pacific
Law Journal, and previously received his B.A. in 1977 from
the University of the Pacific. He has been admitted to the
Minnesota and State Bar of California since 1980 and 1981,
respectively. He is admitted to practice before the federal
courts in the Central and Northern Districts of California
system, and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Andrew J. Marton rejoined the firm in 2001 after six years
with Haight, Brown & Bonesteel where he handled complex litigation
matters. He has practiced law since 1987 and specializes in product
liability, construction, professional negligence and commercial
transportation matters. Mr. Marton has tried numerous cases,
including class actions, to verdict or decision and also sits
as a Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court of California, District
of Los Angeles.
Mr. Marton has been involved in the technology community for
over 20 years as a consultant and beta-tester of software and
computer hardware. Both large and small corporations have benefited
from his advice and guidance on liability issues and other
legal problems related to the design and use of computer systems.
He has lectured and published on legal matters related to computer
systems.
Mr. Marton received his J. D. from Southwestern University School
of Law in 1986 where he was on the Dean's List and placed first
in the Pacific Region of the Phillip C. Jessup International
Moot Court Competition. He previously received his B. A. in history
in 1983 from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Mr. Marton is admitted to practice before the State Bar of
California and before the federal courts in the Central, Southern
and Northern Districts of California. He is a member of the Los
Angeles County Bar Association and American Bar Association.

We are saddened to announce the recent passing of our friend, mentor, and valued colleague, L. Raymond Millard.
L. Raymond Millard was a founder of the firm and established a reputation as one of the top product liability
and complex tort trial attorneys in California. He
represented clients in more than 300 jury trials to verdict for
a wide range of national and international manufacturers including
General Motors, International Harvester, Rockwell, and Clark
Equipment Company. Mr. Millard was one of the original members of the
General Motors' product liability defense team.
Mr. Millard tried many groundbreaking product liability
cases, some of which now appear in law school text books.
He was lead defense counsel in Daly
vs. General Motors, Self vs. General Motors, Fierro vs. International
Harvester, and the Corvair cases that were among
the first product liability cases tried in California.
Mr. Millard received his J.D. in 1957 from the University of
California at Los Angeles and was admitted to the State Bar of
California in 1958. He was a member of the Los Angeles County
and American Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute,
the American Board of Trial Advocates, and Association of Southern
California Defense Counsel.
Mr. Millard will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

We are also saddened to announce the recent passing of our good friend and highly-regarded colleague, Marie Holweger.
Marie Polizzi Holweger began practicing law in 1980. She gained prominence for her
creative solutions in employer liability, insurance coverage/bad
faith litigation, product warranty claims, product liability,
construction site accidents and general tort litigation. She
wrote hundreds of successful demurrers, summary judgment
motions and appeals. A highly successful trial attorney, Ms.
Holweger defeated numerous well-known plaintiffs' attorneys.
She excelled in case preparation, and was often called on to answer
clients' tough procedural and legal questions.
Ms. Holweger also handled employment litigation cases ranging
from sexual harassment to wrongful termination and disability
discrimination. She took numerous cases to trial and handled
dozens of mediations and arbitrations.
Ms. Holweger was awarded her J.D. in 1980, and her B.S., magna
cum laude. from Loyola Marymount University. She was a member
of the Defense Research Institute, Association of Southern California
Defense Counsel, and Los Angeles County and American Bar Associations.
She was admitted to practice by the State Bar of California and
before the federal courts in the Central, Northern, and Southern
Districts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Holweger will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
